Moynat unpacks its trunks at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche for its first travelling pop-up, “Moynat World Tour”.
Trunks, canvas bags and the opportunity to personalise everything: Moynat celebrates over 100 years of Canvas 1920, a pioneering material originally created for its made to order trunks. Today, the Maison continues to perpetuate the time-honoured tradition of personalisation on exquisitely crafted creations in Canvas 1920 and leather. For this pop-up, a new style of hand lettering inspired by Parisian art will be unveiled.
The pop-up begins its journey in Paris, the Maison’s home, at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, the world’s first department store. From 7 January to 18 February. The unique set is inspired by the Maison’s origins as a luxury trunk-maker and the historic Canvas 1920 in carbon bronze – displays and counters resemble archival trunks patterned in M monogram with signature details such as elegant handles, studded metal bands and hand-painted ribbons. Historically, Moynat began personalising ribbon colours so that first-time travellers could easily identify their trunks when on the move.
