For Fall 2016, artistic director Ramesh Nair has imagined a collection that carries the French artist’s Mambo visual signature. He created a unique piece, an Artist Trunk that contains a foldout easel that displays up to six of the artist’s works. He has conceived a contemporary mobile art gallery.
For this two artists, design is only the beginning of life of a creation : what the artist sets in motion is carried forward by the possessor and user of the article. They imagined together the collection “Mambo For Moynat”.
Mambo’s unmistakable illustrations, graphic, urban and colourful, allow Maison Moynat to express its unique savoir-faire in unusual ways. Thus the “Sweetness Galaxy” motif is screen printed onto Quattro totes in Taurillon Gex leather and silk twill scarves with hand rolled edges.
Three of Mambo’s iconic “Portraits” are featured on Taurillon Gex leather accessories, rendered flawlessly in the signature Moynat marquetry technique. They reflect Mambo’s characteristic humour and lightness of spirit and can also be found on passport holders.
